SUMMARY:6th GEOGLAM RAPP workshop in Kenya
DESCRIPTION:Cattle grazing on Brachiaria grass at the ILRI campus in Nairobi\, Kenya (credit: ILRI/Collins Mutai) \nGEOGLAM RAPP (Rangeland And Pasture Productivity)\, is organising its 6th annual strategic workshop in Kenya (Nairobi)\, along with a session on SDG (focus on Goals 2 and 15)\, and an Open Data Cube workshop\, during the same week. \nUPDATE (5th June):  \nILRI and the RAPP team would like to thank everyone again for the attendance & participation to the event which was a great success: almost 70 participants in total\, more than 20 countries represented\, good insights for concrete way forward. Not to mention the well received SDG panel session which opens a new area of interest for RAPP. \nParticipants\, you should have now received minutes by email\, and you can now download most of the presentations (in PDF) of the workshop from these two links: \nDAY 1 \nDAY 2 \nPlease let us know if you need more information. \n \nWe all look forward to working more closely with you all to pursue this global initiative ! \n  \nUPDATE  (Monday 7th May): the AGENDA is now available here: RAPP_UNSDG_Agenda Nairobi_fin Please have a look since it’s a great program! \nThe week (6-11 May 2018) at a glance: \n\nSunday (6th) May: field trip to ILRI Kapiti Ranch (for RAPP members)\nMonday – Tuesday: 6th GEOGLAM RAPP & SDG workshop\nWednesday – Friday: regional Open Data Cube workshop\n\n  \nThe RAPP workshop will enable us to: \n\nBring the community together with other end-users (food security and SDG)\,\nReaffirm the community’s involvement\,\nReview progress and development of the Global Monitoring system RAPP Map\,\nDiscuss product requirements for rangeland and pasture monitoring (e.g. biomass) to be supported by the ODC.\n\nThe RAPP meeting is organised by ILRI/CSIRO/SANSA. \nILRI (International Livestock Research Institute) – CGIAR has offered to host us in Nairobi for this strategic meeting – invited participants (by invitation only) should now have received the invitation via email and are kindly asked to fill in the survey to confirm their participation. \n   \nWe would like to thank ILRI-CGIAR already for its support and kind contribution to host us.
